Location: Berry Room, Nutter Center
Date/Time: July 18, 2018 / 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
(Registration begins at 2:30)
We will be having two topics for this meeting. First, in order to be compliant with the National InfraGard we are officially announcing elections of Board members/Officers. The current group has all volunteered and we will start with them on the ballot. However we do not wish to preclude anyone from serving on the board so please let us know if you wish to nominate someone or be nominated. The elections will occur either by email, or at the November or January meetings. Since this is our first election, we are working out the details. It is pretty obvious, but only Dayton Chapter InfraGard members may vote. If we do an email vote, we will be using the portal. Ergo, please make sure you are current on the infragard.org website. Also remember that we are now using daytoninfragard.org as our local website.
Second, we are pleased to have fellow InfraGard (Cincinnati Board member) Suresh Manchella to present: GDPR: What it is and what we’ve learned so far.
General Data Protection Regulation is the recently enacted EU Regulation that takes the Privacy and Personal Data protection to a whole new level. It has gained immediate attention of the legal, information security, and privacy communities across the global since it was signed into law in 2016. Despite having a significant lead time for compliance, most companies are still struggling to understanding the details of this wide-reaching regulation and become compliant. This presentation is aimed at walking through the GDPR in general and discuss the struggles and lessons learnt through the compliance journey, helpful information to get going, and walk away with practical tips to help your organization become compliant.
