(Registration begins at 2:30)
Topic: JTTF: The Oregon District Shooting
Presenters: FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force
Announcement:
This month we will be holding our first in-person event since the COVID-19 outbreak. In doing so, we want our members to benefit from a presentation that we believe is most effective when given (and attended) in-person, while at the same time planning appropriately for everybody’s medical safety in these challenging times.
Main Presentation
The Oregon District Shooting. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force will review the timeline of events on August 4, 2019, including the advance preparations made by the shooter, his intended goals, and the life-saving police response by the Dayton Police Department. The JTTF will also discuss some specific results of the investigation to include pre-incident red flags; associates of the subject; connections to ideological groups; potential motivations; and the importance of collaboration with private sector and law enforcement partners during the investigation.
Attendance Restrictions and COVID-19 Requirements:
This meeting is open only to InfraGard members and to identified guests of InfraGard members who are attending the event.
All attendees must
- register prior to the meeting,
- present a state-issued ID (such as a driver’s license) upon arrival,
- wear a face covering for the duration of the meeting,
- complete a medical screening questionnaire at the meeting certifying that they are not showing flu-like symptoms; have not tested positive for COVID-19; and have not come into contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.
The meeting will still be held in the Berry Room at the Nutter Center. Wright State University has allowed InfraGard to expand our meeting room for this presentation, and seats will be separated for appropriate social distancing.
This presentation will contain brief video excerpts of the Oregon District shooting to include sounds of gunfire; attendees may choose to leave the room during the video excerpts if they wish.
Mandatory Registration Requirements
(FOR THIS MEETING ONLY):
It is required to either register for this meeting at link here or email RSVP to dayton@infragardnational.org for this event ONLY.
We trust that members and guests have had access to great speakers/topics throughout these many years. For many, earning CPEs through attendance to our meetings is an extra perk. All of this has historically been offered at no cost to our members and guests. However, as our chapter continues to move forward, we have operational costs that need to be paid for to continue our chapter. If you find value in your Dayton InfraGard chapter and the information offered, we would ask that you consider a donation ($5 -$10-$20) to help keep us going. We are a 501(c)(3) organization, so any donations you make are tax deductible. We are going to also post major sponsor’s logos on our website. We especially hope those receiving our 2 hour CPE certificate will consider a donation.
Parking is free. If you come off I-675 and Fairfield, stay on the upper parking lot to the right. The entrance to the far right of the Nutter Center. You are on the same level as the Berry Room.
Hope to see you there! Please e-mail if you have any questions.
